Accreditation,engineered tohold up.

We take testing laboratories from gap assessment to a granted scope — documentation, measurement uncertainty, internal audit and assessment support, delivered end-to-end by a PECB-certified ISO/IEC 17025 Lead Assessor.

Disciplines covered

  • Biological
  • Chemical
  • Electrical
  • Electronics
  • Fluid flow
  • Mechanical
  • Non-destructive
  • Photometry
  • Radiological
  • Thermal

The person who writes your documentation is the person who trains your team and sits with you through the assessment.

What we do

From gap assessmentto a granted scope.

Eight workstreams that between them cover the whole route to accreditation. Take the full programme, or the one piece your laboratory is short on.

01

Gap assessment & roadmap

A clause-by-clause read of where the laboratory stands against ISO/IEC 17025:2017, turned into a dated plan with owners.

02

Management system documentation

Quality manual, procedures, formats and records built around how the laboratory actually works — not a template drop.

03

Measurement uncertainty & method validation

Type A and Type B budgets, combined and expanded uncertainty, coverage factor, and reporting that survives technical assessment. Clause 7.6, done properly.

04

Internal audit & mock assessment

A full internal audit round and a rehearsal assessment run the way the accreditation body will run it, with nonconformities written the way assessors write them.

05

ILC & PT programme planning

Proficiency testing and inter-laboratory comparison planned, scheduled and evaluated against ISO 13528:2022.

06

Witness audit & assessment support

Pre-assessment preparation, on-site support during the assessment, and closure of nonconformities afterwards.

07

Subscription support

A retained arrangement for laboratories that need a technical voice on call between surveillance visits.

How the scopes connect

One competence base. Three accreditations.

The 2023 edition of ISO/IEC 17043 requires testing of proficiency-testing items — homogeneity and stability included — to follow ISO/IEC 17025, and expects reference material producers to meet the relevant requirements of ISO 17034. Laboratories that get 17025 right have already paid for most of the next two.

  1. 01

    ISO/IEC 17025:2017

    Testing & calibration laboratories

General requirements for competence, impartiality and consistent operation. The base every other scope builds on.

  2. 02

    ISO/IEC 17043:2023

    Proficiency testing providers

The 2023 edition, aligned with ISO 13528:2022. PT item testing follows ISO/IEC 17025 — so the competence is already in place.

  3. 03

    ISO 17034:2016

    Reference material producers

Confirmed current after its 2022 systematic review. Characterisation work leans on the same measurement and uncertainty discipline.

Training

Four courses. Delivered by the consultant who runs the assessments.

Live online, hybrid or at your site. Every course closes with knowledge checks and group exercises against real laboratory situations.

ISO/IEC 17025:2017 Awareness

Laboratory managers, technicians, QA team members, support staff

  • Overview of laboratory accreditation
  • General and structural requirements (Clauses 4–5)
  • Resource and process requirements (Clauses 6–7)
  • Management system requirements (Clause 8)
  • Knowledge checks and group exercises on real situations

ISO/IEC 17025:2017 Internal Auditor

Internal auditors, quality managers, technical managers

  • The full awareness syllabus, then audit skills
  • Audit planning, principles, strategies and process
  • High-level and low-level checklists
  • Interviewing and questioning technique on site
  • Recording results and writing nonconformities

Measurement Uncertainty in Testing

Technical managers, quality managers, authorised signatories

  • Clause 7.6 — evaluation of measurement uncertainty
  • Statistics recap: dispersion, normal distribution, bias and precision
  • Type A and Type B classification and calculation
  • Combined and expanded uncertainty, coverage factor k
  • A live case study, calculated end to end

Decision Rules — ILAC G8:09/2019

Technical managers, quality managers, authorised signatories

  • Decision rules as defined in ISO/IEC 17025:2017
  • Simple acceptance and guard-band rules as ILAC G8:09/2019 presents them
  • Test uncertainty ratio and associated risk
  • Binary and non-binary statements of conformity
  • Worked examples, including a <2% global risk guard band

Every course closes with a certificate of participation. A graded competence assessment is being added across the programme — ask for it when you book if your accreditation body wants evidence of competence rather than attendance.
